Angiosarcoma Awareness

We are a patient-driven nonprofit dedicated to researching better therapies and a cure for angiosarcoma.

A rare type of cancer

Angiosarcoma is a rare type of cancer that affects the inner lining of blood vessels or lymph vessels. There is ongoing research on angiosarcoma, aimed at improving the understanding of its causes, developing new diagnostic methods, and finding more effective treatments. Some include:

Genetics

Scientists are studying the genetic mutations that may contribute to the development of angiosarcoma.

Diagnosis

Researchers are developing new imaging techniques and biopsy methods to improve the accuracy of diagnosis.

Treatment

Clinical trials are underway to evaluate the effectiveness of various treatments, including new drugs, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies.

Prognosis

Studies are being done to identify factors that predict the outcome of the disease and to develop strategies to improve the prognosis.
Our work

We are changing the outcome.

Angiosarcoma Awareness is proud to have awarded grants to further research and patient advocacy.

Support research

We identify laboratories that are currently conducting research on angiosarcoma and raise funds to support and augment their work.

Advocacy Partner

We are a proud advocacy partner of the Angiosarcoma Project, a direct-to-patient genomics research study being conducted at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.

Patient Support

Angiosarcoma Awareness serves as a resource for patients and family members affected by angiosarcoma.

Fundraising

Angiosarcoma Awareness is funded entirely through donations from various methods of fundraising.
Angiosarcoma Awareness combines patient advocacy with research funding.  The results of their efforts have led to numerous patients receiving care at sarcoma centers of excellence, and have translated into rapid progress in understanding this disease on a molecular level with respect to disease research.  Angiosarcoma Awareness provides a resounding voice for patients with angiosarcoma. We truly value our relationship with them and feel fortunate to have such a wonderful ally in our battle against this terrible disease.
